Following the popular Curry + Quiz last year a similar evening will be organised by the Enstone Horticultural Society and the new management of The Crown. Quiz teams/tables of four or five. But you don’t need to be part of a team in advance. Just book your place if you want to eat by calling the Crown on 01608 677262. A vegetarian option will be available. And if you don’t want to eat, contact Philip Shaw (07771 594927) so we know the quiz numbers in advance.

Spring Show – 23rd April 2022

Despite a small number of entries for the Spring Show, a cheerful, colourful display was achieved and a pleasant afternoon seeing members old and new as well as local friends.

A member of our society, Kari, is running this course and the details are as follows. Please contact her with any queries or if you wish to attend the course.

Good afternoon garden enthusiasts (beginners or experienced),

‘The Magic of Gardening’ course is starting up after Easter. Here is a chance to understand how to make your garden thrive, feel more confident and be amazed by this wonderful world surrounding us.

Two 8-week courses are starting in the Parish Hall in Enstone, one beginning on Sunday evening 24th April and another on Monday morning 25th April. They are designed for both total beginners and experienced gardeners alike and are based on solid RHS knowledge and over 20 years of working in the field.

It’s an opportunity to learn the secrets of successfully producing your own plants from seeds and cuttings and growing your own food, ornamental plants, wild flowers & container plants. There will also be information and advice on pruning, lawn care, ponds, soil care and much more. Practical demonstrations will be included as much as time allows and you will be introduced to a range of new plants every session.

For those who have friend or family looking for some gardening knowledge, please pass on the information now. There are plenty of spaces on the Sunday evening and Monday has also some space at the moment.

For more information please contact Kari in an email to:

Summer Show: 2021 Show Results & Trophies

The summer flower and produce show was held in the Parish Hall on 4 September, after a necessary Covid break last year. A big thank you to everyone who took part, or who came along in the afternoon. The show was very enjoyable, with a fantastic display of flowers and produce. It was great to be joined this year by several first-time exhibitors. The society hopes to encourage everyone and anyone to take part in future shows.

As usual, the winners of the classes and trophies are published in the Ensign, and the list can also be found on the society’s page on the parish website.

If you haven’t got a membership, or if you are yet to renew your membership, it’s easy to pay online, please E-Mail us for details.
