Enstone Annual Show - 27 Aug 2016

A huge thank you for everyone who braved the apalling weather to make the 2016 show a soggy success.

Clare Mackintosh

Clare Mackintosh, best selling author, resident of Chipping Norton, and founding director of Chipping Norton Literary Festival opened the show before the heavens opened.

Despite the appalling weather the Dog Show was judged, the Photographic and Craft competition were judged and the Horticultural Society chose their winners for the best plant and produce. The Texas Rangers shot it out at the Enstone Corral, the castle bounced, the tea cups twirled, the Scouts were not prepared for their tent to take off, the Charlbury Fire Engine left with blue lights blazing and the Camels strode elegantly as if nothing was happening! Kate won the wettest T-shirt competition!!

Many favourites including Cotswold Archery, Animals at Home, Enstone History Society, Rosetti Ices, and BBOWT stayed through the downpour. Unfortunately the childrens races had to be cancelled. The fully licensed bar and amenities provided by the Enstone Sports & Social Club gave shelter, warmth and welcome to many and plenty of delicious food was available on the day.
